In 2015, United Nations set 17 Sustainable Development Goals to achieve with its member. Among those Sustainable Development Goals, I chose number 5 (Achieve Gender’s equality and empower women). Switzerland is a champion itself on the topic of gender equality and it is partnered with the UN for gender equality around the world. Switzerland is involved with UN women on all the issues related to gender like the pay gap, violence against women, gender equality in governance, budgeting, and reducing the pay gap ( Partner Spotlight: Switzerland, n.d.) . SDG 6 : Gender inequality in Iraq.

In 2015, United Nations set 17 Sustainable Development Goals to achieve with its member. Among those Sustainable Development Goals, I chose number 5 (Achieve Gender’s equality and empower women). I am looking at Iraq for a country in this blog. Iraq lies in the eastern part of the Arab world. It is bordered by Turkey in the north, east by Iran, west by Syria and Jordan. It is a middle eastern state with the least access to the sea and offshore sovereignty (Woods, n.d.) . Iraq confirms its commitment to achieve SDG 5 by 2030. Gender inequality is high in Iraq in the past. The position of women is still behind in another region compare to Kurdistan region of Iraq. SDG Blog 5: Gender inequality in Ghana.

In 2015, United Nations set 17 Sustainable Development Goals to achieve with its member. Among those Sustainable Development Goals, I chose number 5 (Achieve Gender’s equality and empower women). Ghana is a country located in western Africa. It has 47 different local languages, and it is rich in diversity. The findings show that there are a lot of obstacles for women in Ghanaian societies. The research suggested that women have lower literacy rates, lower participation in official jobs, lower rate of women participate in tertiary education (Burgess & Ayentimi, 2020) . In 2015, United Nations set 17 Sustainable Development Goals to achieve with its member. Among those Sustainable Development Goals, I chose number 5 (Achieve Gender’s equality and empower women). Violence against women in Asia is high and severe. More than 37% of women in South Asia, 40% of women in South East Asia, and 68% of women in the Pacific have experienced abuse from their partners ( Focus Areas: End Violence against Women , n.d.) .
