In 2015, United Nations set 17 Sustainable Development Goals to achieve with its member. Among those Sustainable Development Goals, I chose number 5 (Achieve Gender’s equality and empower women). Violence against women in Asia is high and severe. More than 37% of women in South Asia, 40% of women in South East Asia, and 68% of women in the Pacific have experienced abuse from their partners ( Focus Areas: End Violence against Women , n.d.) . The Philippines is located in South East Asia. It is an island country with 107,418,655 people. It is also the thirteenth most populated country ( Where Is the Philippines in the World? n.d.) . The Philippines has also accepted the global goal to end all forms of violence and injustice against women.
